CS2400S-LE - A Limited Edition

The ColorEdge CS2400S-LE (Limited Edition) is fully compatible with all Windows PCs and Intel Macs. Apple M1/2 devices may currently be incompatible due to a special feature of the image signal.

Under special circumstances, this can lead to flickering of the monitor image. By means of a firmware update, the refresh rate can be limited to 30 Hz., whereby the flickering disappears.

The ColorEdge CS2400S-LE is offered at a special price while stocks last.

Precision and color accuracy

High-contrast, bright and crisp screen

For saturated colors

Wide gamut color space

To be able to use the entire colour spectrum of modern cameras, you need a monitor with the largest possible colour space. Only then is it possible to visually assess and edit the saturated hues contained in the file. That is why the IPS panel of the ColorEdge CS2400S-LE covers, for example, the wide AdobeRGB photo gamut as well as the CMYK print gamut ISO-Coated V2 to more than 99 %. This means that the full colour spectrum of modern cameras is represented unaltered and without gaps. And a precise simulation of the print result in the softproof view is also guaranteed.

Precision-color_WideGamut_CS.jpg

Outstandingly sharp image quality

The monitor has an impressive top resolution (1920 x 1200), a very good contrast ratio of 1350:1 and a brightness of 410 cd/m². For example, you can edit graphics and images down to the pixel. As an added benefit, text contours are clear and precise. The LCD panel with the IPS (Wide Gamut) panel allows for a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Ensuring that hue and contrast remain stable for the viewer.

Precision-color_IPS-Panel_CE.jpg

Smooth and fluid transitions and gradients thanks to 16-bit LUT and 10-bit mode

The LUT (look-up-table) on the CS2400S-LE employs internal calculations with 16 bits for an extremely high colour depth and outputs the signals with up to 10 bits. This provides billions of hues for calculating the precise monitor display, effectively preventing display errors caused by the monitor such as banding or clipping, which can result in tonal breaks in gradients or unnecessary colours in greyscale. Even fine nuances and structures in dark or highly saturated areas of the image can be displayed in a differentiated and detailed manner.

Ready to use right out of the box

Perfect settings right from the factory

Every ColorEdge CS2400S-LE is individually measured and optimally configured in the factory, enabling it to be used immediately after it has been unboxed. To this end, the gamma curves for the red, green and blue channels are closely checked and corrected, if necessary. This unique EIZO factory calibration enables the user to start using the monitor with the preset gamut range right out of the box. This painstaking calibration at the factory ensures that the user can quickly recalibrate the monitor if needed using ColorNavigator.

Precision-color_Factory-calibration.jpg

Perfect rendering across the entire screen

Digital Uniformity Equalizer

Each individual monitor panel is precisely measured over the entire surface at the EIZO factory. Any inhomogeneities in brightness and unnecessary colour are detected and removed. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer) guarantees that identical colours always look the same over the entire service life of the monitor, no matter where they are displayed. Only in this way is precise image processing and retouching possible.

Calibration report

Each ColorEdge CS2400S-LE comes with an individual calibration report that shows the measurement results of the factory calibration of the monitor. The report proves the homogeneity, gamma curve, colour space coverage and white point of the monitor.

More information on the calibration report

Fast, easy and lossless

Hardware calibration without any compromises

It is essential that the monitor is regularly calibrated to ensure that it always displays the same file in the same way over its entire service life. To do so, all ColorEdge monitors employ lossless hardware calibration. Unlike software calibration, which always involves the risk of loss of display quality, hardware calibration not only creates an adjustment profile for the graphics board but also calibrates the monitor’s LUT (look-up-table).

Precision-color_Calibration_CS.jpg

EIZO software for fast calibration and printing

Each monitor ages and changes its display properties. This is why graphics monitors, which require an absolutely constant image display over the entire service life, must be regularly calibrated and adjusted. With the free calibration software ColorNavigator 7 from EIZO, the ColorEdge CS2400S-LE can be adjusted within 90 seconds (measured with a MacBook Pro and EX4), easily and without any losses. This is to ensure that the same image still looks the same on the monitor five years from now.

The free Quick Color Match software helps users, even without in-depth expertise in colour management, to see on the monitor how their images will look when printed on their Canon or Epson inkjet printer at home. In this way, the images can be optimised for the special properties of the selected photo paper even before printing, which helps users avoid expensive misprints.

FAQs

Yes, this is possible with an open and closed notebook through the monitor's power delivery function. To do this, deactivate the USB-C power supply of the notebook in idle mode in the Admininstrator menu of the monitor.

Compatibility Mode ON = Power supply active in idle mode
Compatiblitly Mode OFF = Power supply only when switched on

To start the notebook with the monitor switched on, please activate the function "Power On with AC attach" in its BIOS/UEFI.
Depending on the computer, the function name may be slightly different.

The EIZO ColorNavigator software can be used to calibrate and profile ColorEdge-LCD monitor hardware. IMPORTANT: Please do not use an alternative calibration software, which may not be able to use the hardware function of ColorEdge LCD monitors.

To keep your monitor looking like new at all times and to prolong the service life of your device, we recommend cleaning it regularly. Clean the casing and LCD surface as described below:

IMPORTANT: Never use thinner, benzene, alcohol (ethanol, methanol or isopropyl alcohol), scouring agents or other strong solvents as these may damage the casing and the LCD display.

Casing
Remove marks by wiping the casing with a soft cloth, which you have previously moistened with a mild cleaning agent. Never spray wax or cleaning agents directly on to the casing. (The manual contains exact details.)

LCD display
Where necessary, the monitor surface may be cleaned using a soft cloth (for example a cotton cloth or glasses cloth). Stubborn marks can generally be removed by wetting the cloth with a bit of water to increase the cleaning strength.

EIZO offers different versions of the ColorNavigator software. They are compatible with Windows or Mac operating systems.

Details about the supported operating systems can be found here.

During the calibration by the user, the desired white point and gamma curve are transferred to the gray scale through a combination of measurements and calculations. This process is typical at EIZO as it saves time and is more precise than the measurements of several tone values with conventional manual measuring devices, which are prone to errors. The accuracy of the factory calibration with sensitive laboratory measuring equipment serves as a secure foundation in this regard.

All about monitor calibration

Homogeneous luminance distribution and good color purity are key to achieving very accurate image rendering. The Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) circuit takes care of this. It automatically corrects non-uniformities in terms of luminance and chrominance for all tone values across the entire image area – pixel by pixel.

When it comes to color accuracy when working, how well a monitor can differentiate between color tones is of fundamental importance. To achieve the maximum color depth and prevent the formation of stripes, banding, and washing, EIZO relies on the ultimate perfection: a 16 bit look-up table (LUT) ensures precise color resolution, meaning that even the finest structures in darker areas of the image are reproduced so that they are absolutely accurate in every detail.

In connection with a frame rate control (FRC) of the LCD modules, CG monitors allow for 10 bit color resolution, depending on the module. Screens can therefore display even the finest tone value gradations using a billion colors. This requires corresponding 10 bit support by the application software and graphics card.

EIZO monitors support DisplayPort Alternate Mode with their USB-C interface. This means they can correctly display image signals from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports via USB-C connection. The USB-C signal cable supplied by EIZO with the monitor has the optimal suitability.

Alternatively, monitors with a DisplayPort socket can be connected using a suitable cable. The CP200 signal cable (USB-C (TB3/TB4) to DisplayPort) provided by EIZO is the most suitable.

A connection from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports to the HDMI interface of the monitor can work with suitable active adapters/cables. However, we recommend using the USB-C or DisplayPort interface of the monitor.

Warranty

Warranty terms - CS2731 / CS2740 / CS2400S / CS2400S-LE / CS2400R

EIZO provides up to a five-year warranty, although some devices have a different warranty period. You can find out the exact warranty periods for each product either in the warranty terms and conditions above, in the datasheet, or on the EIZO international website. The long warranty periods are made possible by a highly developed manufacturing process based on a simple principle of success: sophisticated and innovative monitor technology, manufactured from high-end materials. For you, the 5-year warranty means a high level of investment security and savings on follow-up costs (total cost of ownership), which would be incurred without warranty service, for example, for maintenance and repairs.

  • Innovative service concept from EIZO, which sets standards and meets the trend towards longer depreciation periods. Safety that convinces and you can count on.
  • First-class material and careful processing provide for the extraordinary longevity and make so long guarantee durations possible.
  • Follow-up costs that would be incurred without warranty service, e.g. for maintenance and repairs, are avoided and lead to optimized cost transparency (Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
